Our Junior & Intermediate Speed Squads are designed for young athletes wanting to improve their speed, acceleration and running technique in a structured, high-quality coaching environment.
Each squad is capped at just 10 athletes, allowing our coaches to provide greater individual feedback, technical correction and progression throughout the term.
The program is suitable for athletes involved in Athletics, APS/School Athletics, football, soccer, basketball and other field or court sports, as well as young athletes simply wanting to become faster and more confident runners.
Designed to develop the foundations of good sprinting through age-appropriate coaching, drills and activities.
Sessions focus on developing running technique, coordination, acceleration and speed while keeping training engaging and enjoyable.
Designed for developing athletes ready for a more structured approach to speed training.
Sessions progress sprint technique and expose athletes to acceleration, maximum-speed and speed-endurance training appropriate to their age and experience.
Throughout the term, athletes will work on:
Sprint technique
Starts
Acceleration
Maximum speed
Speed endurance
Running coordination and efficiency
Sessions are progressively structured across the term, rather than operating as standalone classes, allowing athletes to build on what they have learned from week to week.
With a maximum of 10 athletes in each squad, coaches are able to provide individual technical feedback while still maintaining the competitive and social benefits of small-group training.
Training runs from the week commencing Monday 5 October 2026 through to Saturday 19 December 2026.
