Meet the Coaches
Liam Walsh
Liam Walsh is a Strength and Conditioning coach with a strong passion for athletic development across all levels of sport. He is dedicated to helping individuals become faster, stronger, and more resilient through the application of evidence-based training principles. Liam completed a Bachelor of Sport and Exercise Science in 2025 (La Trobe University) and is currently undertaking an Honours project in 2026, exploring the relationship between strength and power testing and in-game acceleration and deceleration performance in team-sport athletes.
At La Trobe University Football Club, Liam has worked as Head of Strength and Conditioning, implementing structured pre-season and in-season programs, as well as delivering a six-week speed development program. He has also completed an internship as a High Performance Intern at Essendon Football Club and continues to assist within the VFL program alongside his studies. In addition, Liam works at Xavier College, focusing on developing fundamental movement and strength qualities, with an emphasis on strong technical foundations and long-term athletic development.
